The Role of HRCT in the Diagnosis of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD)

In the video’s Professor J.A. Verschakelen (CV) presents the current role of high-resolution CT (HRCT) in the diagnostic work-up of diffuse and interstitial lung disease (DILD).

Aims

  • recognize the different basic HRCT appearance patterns of lung disease
  • suggest a diagnosis and differential diagnosis of diffuse interstitial lung diseases (based on the recognition of the appearance patterns and on the study of the distribution pattern)
  • describe the indications and limitations of HRCT in different lung diseases
