Prof. Johny A. Verschakelen

Johny Verschakelen is professor of radiology at the Catholic University of Leuven and senior staff member responsible for chest radiology at the Department of Radiology, University Hospitals Leuven. He has a widespread interest in all aspects of chest radiology, with a particular interest in CT of the lungs. He is past president of the Fleischner Society, founding member, member of the board and past president of the European Society of Thoracic Imaging and is member of various scientific societies. His interests comprise all aspects of chest radiology, particularly computer tomography of the lungs. He is reviewer for several journals. He is author and co-author of over 150 scientific publications in international journals and books and invited lecturer worldwide. In 2015 he received the life time achievement award of the ild care foundation.
